Have you taken a similar class?
Over 50s or 60s class?
Have you worked with this generation of attendees?
What are the expectations of the session?
How will you introduce your class?
You need to build relationships with your clients which helps with retention but also helps you to understand your clients too.
You need to be really clear with your participants so that they are safe, educated, motivated and they can trust you.
Music
We love to use music in our classes but the evidence when delivering these type of classes to older people, shows that it is better not to use music. This is because it can distract the clients from your verbal coaching and from the exercises.
It can also have a negative impact on those who may have hearing problems as they will struggle to concentrate or hear you.
We do however love to use music for the Tai chi and Mindivator sections of the programme.
