What is the Totter Facilitator Course?

The Totter course is designed for team members who play a supporting role in strength and balance falls prevention sessions for older adults. This role is essential for enhancing the effectiveness and safety of each session, whether conducted face-to-face, virtually, or through pre-recorded content in the client’s home.

As a facilitator, rather than assuming the responsibilities of a lead instructor, the course equips learners with the knowledge and skills to assist in logistical preparations, observe and report any participant difficulties, motivate, provide emotional support, and ensure safe exercise execution under the lead instructor’s guidance. Supporting team members contribute significantly to creating a supportive, safe, and positive environment, enabling participants to benefit fully from the sessions, thus improving their mobility, balance and stability in their daily activities.
