iCareiMove has been delivering falls prevention services across Cornwall since 2012, originally commissioned by CIOS Primary Care Trust and later by Public Health Cornwall. Over time, the Move More programme has evolved into a comprehensive and accessible offer supporting older adults to stay strong, steady, and socially connected. With each contract, iCareiMove has built on experience and innovation to reach more people across communities — particularly through a blend of digital and face-to-face services.
Following a successful tender, iCareiMove was commissioned by Cornwall Council to deliver the Falls Management Exercise (FaME) programme alongside Functional Fitness MOTs. In Cornwall, we have an ageing population and only one hospital, so it’s vital to keep people out of hospital where possible. By helping older people prevent falls and increase their strength and balance, the programme promotes living independently.

This service has enabled iCareiMove to scale and embed deeply into the Cornwall health and wellbeing landscape. The longer-term contract provides the stability and scope needed to establish a robust, high-impact falls prevention model — one that is not only sustainable in Cornwall, but also fully replicable in other regions.
The Move More approach shows that digital tools, strong partnerships, and a flexible mindset can deliver real results — and help older adults stay active, independent, and safe wherever they are.
