IMPACT Events

IMPACT Events are interactive workshops offering movement demos, health checks, and expert advice to reduce falls and support community wellbeing.

Community-Led Falls Prevention

IMPACT Events are interactive workshops designed to educate individuals, carers, and professionals on the importance of falls prevention. These engaging sessions provide practical strategies, movement demonstrations, functional fitness MOTs and expert insights to help reduce fall risks and promote safer, more active lifestyles.

A Community Approach to Wellbeing

At iCareiMove, we believe in collaboration. IMPACT Events bring together partners such as the Fire Service, Volunteer Cornwall, Community Pharmacists, and Health & Safety Experts to offer a comprehensive approach to falls prevention.

From strength and balance exercises to home safety advice, these events ensure that everyone has access to the tools and resources they need to reduce fall risks and maintain independence.

Strength & Balance ActivitiesOur expert team lead a 30-minute demonstration of the Move More programme, showing both standing and seated options of the movements that are based around a chair for support.
Home Safety Assessments Meet the Community Pharmacy team who can take your blood pressure, discuss medication queries, advise on heart health and smoking cessation, provide advice on healthy living regarding diet and hydration and address minor illnesses.
Community ConnectionsMeet local and regional organisations to stay socially engaged and see what support is available near you. For example, Social Prescribers will signpost to advice regarding housing and finance, alongside activities such as Crafts, Men’s Sheds, Repair Cafes, Reading groups, Walking groups, and more.
Practical Falls Prevention TipsFalls risks can be broken down into extrinsic factors such as loose rugs, poor lighting or trip hazards, or intrinsic factors such as polypharmacy (4 or more medications) or a visual impairment, or situational factors such as rushing to the bathroom at night. We provide a checklist of tips for you to prevent falls by addressing the risks.

Thursday

15 May 2025

  • Dragon Leisure Centre, Bodmin

This engaging day is centred around promoting movement and wellbeing through our Functional Fitness MOT sessions. Designed to inspire healthier, more active lifestyles, the event brings together health professionals and community members alike. Led by the iCareiMove team — Helen Tite, Pat Taylor, Nikki Veale, and Nikki Wood — it’s an opportunity to explore how small changes in daily movement can make a meaningful difference.

IMPACT Events are more than just falls prevention—they’re about building confidence, connections, and a stronger community. By bringing together experts and local support, we empower people to take control of their wellbeing and stay steady on their feet.
