Discover Service and Strength, a programme delivering specialist women’s health support for Armed Forces through workshops, online sessions, and on-demand resources.
Women who serve our country deserve support that truly serves them, and that’s exactly what we’re here to deliver. We’ve always believed that everyone deserves access to the right support at the right time, especially when it comes to health and wellbeing. And we’re incredibly excited to share some big news that shines a light on women who often go unseen in conversations about specialist health support.
We’re proud to announce that iCareiMove, in partnership with Cornwall Rural Community Charity (CRCC), has received government funding through the Seen and Heard initiative to launch a brand-new programme called Service and Strength.
This two-year project (running from November 2025 to October 2027) is all about supporting women currently serving in the Armed Forces, particularly those going through peri-menopause and post-menopause, with accessible, empowering, and genuinely practical health education.
It’s a huge step forward in making sure Servicewomen receive the same level of health support and community as anyone else. Many are based in remote locations, constantly on the move, or deployed, which means specialist women’s health info isn’t always easy to access. Service and Strength aims to change that.
Service and Strength has been carefully co-designed with Servicewomen, ensuring it supports their real lived experiences.
By offering a mix of in-person, online, and flexible on-demand resources, the programme ensures women can access support no matter where they are based.
Women in the Armed Forces face unique health challenges, from irregular routines and intense physical demands to long periods away from family and support networks. Many simply don’t have easy access to specialist women’s health advice.
And with a goal of reaching at least 1,200 beneficiaries each year, the impact is set to be huge.
While this programme focuses on women currently serving, it highlights something we already see in our work with older adults: When women feel supported, informed, and connected, their wellbeing thrives iCareiMove and CRCC Win Prestigious Government Award to Support Service-Women’s Health | iCareiMove.
Just like our falls prevention programmes and movement-based initiatives Falls Prevention | iCareiMove help older adults maintain confidence and independence, Service and Strength is designed to help servicewomen build resilience, community, and long-term health habits that support them throughout their lives.
It’s all part of the same mission: empowering people through movement, education, and community.
